Julie Mason presenting to an engaged audience at a business event

Engaging, practical presentations that make complex ideas easier to understand and easier to put into action.

The best presentations help people see something differently, understand what matters and leave knowing what they can do next.

That's what I aim to bring to every audience.

With more than 30 years in sales, I draw from a vast experience in value proposition, buyer psychology and mindset — understanding what people value, what influences their decisions and what helps to convert them into quality clients.

For close to 17 years, LinkedIn has been an important part of that work, but the conversations I speak about today extend well beyond any single platform.

Positioning

Being Good At What You Do Isn't Enough If People Don't Understand Your Value

As our expertise grows, explaining what makes us valuable can often become harder rather than easier.

I help audiences look at positioning through the eyes of the people they're trying to reach — understanding what those people value, what influences their decisions and how to communicate expertise in a way that gives the right people a compelling reason to pay attention.

This can include personal positioning, value propositions, LinkedIn positioning and becoming recognised for the expertise you want to be known for.

Great positioning isn't about saying more. It's about making the right things clear.

Strategy

More Activity Isn't Always The Answer

We have more tools, platforms, information and advice available to us than ever before.

The real challenge is knowing what deserves our attention.

Drawing on more than three decades of sales experience, I help audiences step back from tactics and think strategically about what they're trying to achieve, who they're trying to reach and which activities are most likely to create the result they want.

Whether we're talking about LinkedIn, sales, business development or marketing, the principle is the same:

Start with the outcome. Then reverse engineer the strategy.

Mindset

The Strategy Can Be Right And We Can Still Get In Our Own Way

Knowing what to do and actually doing it are two very different things.

Our beliefs, assumptions, confidence and willingness to take action influence the decisions we make in business every day.

As a Certified Success Principles Trainer, coach and mentor, I speak about mindset from a practical perspective — recognising the thinking that can limit our decisions, taking greater responsibility for the outcomes we want and developing the confidence to take meaningful action.

Strategy matters. So does the person responsible for implementing it.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn Speaking & Training

LinkedIn has been one of my most requested speaking topics for close to 17 years.

My presentations focus on using LinkedIn strategically — from positioning and reaching the right people through to developing visibility, building relationships and creating sales conversations that lead to new business.

Rather than simply teaching people which buttons to press, I help them understand what they're trying to achieve, why particular activities matter and how LinkedIn fits into the broader sales and business development picture.

The technology will continue to change.

Understanding your market, your buyers and how to build trust with them doesn't.

More Than A Presentation

My speaking style is energetic, conversational and highly interactive. I use stories, humour and real-world examples to bring ideas to life, and I'm well known for taking complex subjects and making them easy to understand, practical and, most importantly, easy to implement.

I'm also very comfortable speaking on my feet.

Years of speaking, training and facilitating have taught me how to read a room, respond to what's happening and adapt in the moment. Whether that's an unexpected question, a lively audience discussion or technology deciding it has other plans for my presentation, I can change direction and keep the audience engaged.

Every audience is different, and that's part of what I enjoy about speaking.

I'll challenge people's thinking. I'll make them laugh. And I'll give them plenty to think about long after the presentation has finished.

But underneath the energy, humour and interaction, there's always a purpose.

I want people to understand something they may have previously found complicated, see how it applies to them and leave knowing exactly what they can do next.

Who I’ve Spoken For

Over the years, I've spoken, trained and facilitated for conferences, business groups, corporate teams and professional audiences across Australia and internationally.

I've tutored at the University of Sydney, Griffith University and the University of Queensland, and have been the LinkedIn trainer for Recruiter.com, one of the world's largest recruitment and career platforms.

My expertise has also been featured across podcasts and radio, and I was honoured to appear on the cover of Social Media Success Australia Magazine.

Whether I'm speaking to a room of business owners, professionals, leaders or sales teams, I tailor the presentation to the people in front of me and what the organiser wants them to walk away understanding, thinking or doing differently.
